Project Hope of Marion County, Inc. is a not-for-profit social service agency, created in 2006 by a group of concerned business people, community and church leaders, who saw a need to house homeless families in our community. In 2007, a Board of Directors, consisting of a diverse group of community leaders and advocates, was assembled, and the organization was incorporated that same year. On June 1, 2011, Project Hope purchased its first housing complex, a 40-unit apartment community. On August 26, 2011, a Ribbon Cutting and Open House was held to commemorate the opening of Hope Villas.

The housing program was designed to give the family a "hand up" and not a "hand out", by providing comprehensive case management which includes housing, counseling, life skills education, budgeting, savings program, employment support and a faith-based discipleship program.
